Bill is a Director in the Construction/Surety and Real Estate Law sections of Coats Rose. He has more than 43 years of experience in both a transactional and litigation practice, representing lenders, owners, sureties, contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals in both public and private construction projects. He has been rated AV by Martindale Hubbell continuously since 1979, named a Super Lawyer each year since 2004, and annually listed in Best Lawyers, Texas Best Lawyers, Chambers USA, and Who’s Who Legal as one of America’s leading attorneys.
Bill’s practice focuses primarily on commercial and construction litigation, involving contract interpretation, design defects, negligence and insurance claims, real estate transactions and bond claims. He maintains an expansively lauded alternative dispute resolution practice, in which he has served as an arbitrator and mediator in all areas of commercial disputes, including as chair of arbitration panels for construction cases involving tens of millions of dollars in aggregate claims. Since 1988, he has lectured and been a panel speaker and moderator at the annual State Bar of Texas Construction Law Conference.
