Jerry joined Coats Rose in 2006 and became a Director in 2009. After graduating from South Texas College of Law in 1992, Jerry focused his efforts upon trying lawsuits and has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of complex matters over the years. He has twice been appointed as a Special Master in complex commercial class actions involving insurance disputes. Jerry’s election to The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), his board certification in Personal Injury Trial Law and AV rating by Martindale-Hubble reflects his strong commitment to the representation of his clients and the Civil Justice system. Texas Monthly Magazine has recognized Jerry as a “Texas Super Lawyer” (2008-2011) and “Rising Star/Texas Super Lawyer” (2005-2007).
Jerry’s practice emphasis includes complex commercial matters, breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference, professional malpractice, theft of trade secrets and proprietary information, products liability and enforcement of employment covenants. He has handled lawsuits and arbitrations in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, California, Oklahoma, New York, North Carolina, New Jersey, Colorado and Utah. Jerry’s clients include Kinder Morgan, National Oil Well, Mustang-Caterpillar, Apache Corporation, Complete Production Services, Rialto Capital and AFTCO among others.
