Cynthia is Of Counsel in the Construction/Surety and Litigation practice sections of Coats Rose. She has extensive experience in evaluating insurance coverage issues, including the analyzation of excess, primary and additional insured obligations, as well as first party and third party coverage. Cynthia actively counsels clients as to interpretation of policy exclusions and endorsement provisions, as well as handles bad faith and insurance litigation matters. She has given seminars to groups across the country with regard to construction and insurance issues.
Cynthia was named as one of the University’s Top Ten outstanding seniors at Oklahoma State University where she received her B.A., with honors, in Political Science. She was honored as a member of the Dean's List at Southern Methodist University School of Law, where she served as Chairperson of the Board of Advocates. Cynthia was also a member of the National Health Law Moot Court Team and received the Orgain, Bell & Tucker Advocacy Award Scholarship.
Cynthia’s practice is devoted to the areas of civil litigation, specializing in construction law, construction defect litigation, insurance coverage, coverage litigation, construction-related bodily injury actions and employment litigation. She also specializes in the representation of policyholders under general liability, homeowners', business, commercial and professional policies.
For over a decade, Cynthia has represented several NASDAQ and NYSE-listed, Fortune 500 companies, developers, general contractors and subcontractors in the construction industry, defending them with regard to allegations of breach of contract, negligent design, defective construction, standard of care, land subsidence, mold contamination, statutory violations and a variety of other construction-related issues. She is well-versed in the handling of complex multi-party claims, which involve various types of construction, including condominium complexes, planned developments, single family dwellings, commercial property and governmental projects.
In addition, Cynthia handles contract formation and negotiations, defends her clients in bodily injury litigation and advises them with respect to employment-related matters.
