Bill is a Director in the Construction/Surety and Real Estate Law sections of Coats Rose. He has more than 39 years of experience in both a transactional and litigation practice, representing lenders, owners, sureties, contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals in both public and private construction projects. He has been rated AV by Martindale Hubbell, named a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics magazines and listed in The Best Lawyers of America, Chamber’s USA, and Who’s Who Legal as one of America’s leading attorneys.
Bill’s practice focuses primarily on commercial and construction litigation, involving contract interpretation, design defects, negligence and insurance claims, real estate transactions and bond claims. He maintains an expansively lauded alternative dispute resolution practice, wherein he has served as an arbitrator and mediator in all areas of commercial disputes, including as chair of arbitration panels for construction cases involving tens of millions of dollars in aggregate claims. Since 1988, he has lectured and been a panel speaker and moderator at the annual State Bar of Texas Construction Law Conference.
