Richard is of Counsel in the Construction/Surety and Litigation sections of Coats Rose. Prior to joining the firm, he was Corporate Counsel at Zachry Industrial, Inc. a privately held, multi-billion dollar, construction, engineering, and procurement company. Richard has 14 years of experience in the construction industry including the commercial, industrial and power sectors of the market. He is a proficient manager of resources with proven success as an adversary in both litigation and negotiation.
Richard’s work is concentrated primarily in the areas of construction and litigation. His professional experience includes drafting and negotiating complex construction contracts as well as creating special purpose entities for project development. Richard has tried or arbitrated more than 30 construction cases involving a broad range of disputes including breach of contract, surety claims, and construction defects matters.
