Coats Rose is pleased to announce Ben Aderholt has joined Coats Rose law firm’s Houston office as Of Counsel. Ben Aderholt has been an influential member of the Texas legal community for many years. Aderholt ‘s practice includes representing construction supply houses and bankruptcy, his legal experience is primarily commercial transactions and litigation for the construction industry.
Ben Aderholt successfully argued the Trust Fund Doctrine in construction litigation before the Texas Supreme Court in July 2009; and he successfully presented to the U.S. Supreme Court the landmark case which established the standard for valuing business assets in a reorganization. Mr. Aderholt has been active throughout his professional career as a director on both private and public boards.
Ben Aderholt is a past President of the Houston Bar Association, past Chair of the Mayor’s Council and a Director of the State Bar of Texas. He presided as a part-time judge in a court of general jurisdiction in Houston for eight years. Ben Aderholt is currently Chair of the Mayor’s international Affairs and Development Council-Americas. For over twelve years Ben Aderholt has taught commercial law at the University of Houston. Aderholt continues to be active on the Editorial Board of the Construction Law Journal.
