Johnson and Craig are both in the firm’s public finance practice in Houston, and Senkel is in the real estate practice in Houston. Stanga is in New Orleans in the affordable housing and community development practice, one of the largest legal practices in the country representing the affordable housing industry.

Johnson works with special-purpose districts, such as municipal utility districts, water control and improvement districts, fresh water supply districts, levee improvement districts, road utility districts, public improvement districts, water supply corporations and tax-increment reinvestment zones. He represents clients before administrative agencies such as the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Texas Water Development Board.

Stanga represents for profit and non-profit developers and public housing authorities engaged in the development of affordable housing using a variety of funding sources. She also represents developers and investors engaged in historic rehabilitation tax credit and new markets tax credit transactions. She is a Tax Law Specialist, certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. She has experience in a variety of tax-related areas including: business planning and transactions, offshore voluntary disclosures and foreign asset reporting compliance, and resolving federal and state tax controversies.

Craig represents real estate developers engaged in both commercial and residential development. Her experience includes the creation and administration of special purpose districts located throughout Texas, particularly the use of special purpose districts to finance development, including: municipal utility districts, water control and improvement districts, fresh water supply districts, and public improvement districts.  She represents clients before various governmental entities, including: the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the Texas Legislature, cities, counties, and various regional service providers.

Senkel focuses on commercial real estate and corporate law, representing a wide range of clients including first-time sellers and purchasers  to experienced landowners, developers, builders and landlords. He works closely with clients to serve their needs involving acquisition, development, management, operation and disposition of improved and unimproved properties, leasing, financing and refinancing, construction contracts, due diligence, title research and title curative work, formation and governance of business entities and management of day-to-day legal issues concerning developers, management companies, landowners, sellers, and purchasers.

In addition to the attorney promotions, Coats Rose continues its strategic growth, recently adding seven attorneys to its real estate, public finance and affordable housing practices.
