Ahmed B. Ishwait is an Associate in the Affordable Housing and Community Development practice group in the Houston office. Prior to law school, Ahmed worked in the banking industry as an analyst. During law school, he gained experience working with the legal team of a major oil and gas company. His practice concentrates on representing public housing authorities, developers, and nonprofit organizations in the construction and rehabilitation of multifamily affordable housing developments across the State of Texas utilizing a variety of financing tools including 4% and 9% low-income housing tax credits, private activity tax-exempt bonds, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans, FHA-insured loans, conventional construction and permanent financing loans, TDHCA and local government grants and loans, and ad valorem property tax exemptions.
While attending law school, Ahmed served as the financial officer of the Muslim Legal Society, a student-run organization. Prior to joining as an Associate, Ahmed interned as a law clerk with the Firm.
