Sarah Yednock is an attorney in our Affordable Housing Section in the New Orleans office. Sarah’s primary areas of practice are general corporate matters, commercial finance and real estate finance. She has experience with a variety of government financing incentives used in commercial transactions, including opportunity zones, state and federal new markets tax credits, state and federal historic rehabilitation tax credits and low-income housing tax credits.
Before law school, Sarah received a Master of Science in Applied Economics from Georgia Southern University and worked for the Coastal Regional Commission of Georgia as an Economic Development Specialist. In her capacity as Economic Development Specialist, Sarah advised local governments and economic development authorities throughout a ten-county region on available economic and community development resources. She also applied for and administered grant awards on behalf of public entities and served as project manager for state- and federally- funded construction projects, including road, water, sewer and historic preservation projects.
Sarah also has experience working for the commercial mortgage servicing division of Lancaster Pollard, a provider of investment banking and financing services, where she coordinated HUD- and USDA- guaranteed loan closings with title companies, tax credit investors and real estate counsel, and ensured loan compliance with various HUD, USDA, LIHTC, and GNMA regulations. She also acted as construction loan administrator and managed project site inspections, contractor requisitions, tenant income recertifications and insurance requirements for a variety of healthcare and multifamily housing projects.
Sarah served as law clerk to the Honorable Halil Suleyman Ozerden of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, 2016-2017.
