HOUSTON – March 13, 2018 – Coats Rose, P.C., a leading business transaction and litigation law firm, announces the addition of a new attorney to the firm’s Houston office. Teresa N. Smith has joined as associate attorney in Coats Rose’s oil and gas law practice.
Smith’s practice focus is energy and real estate law with an emphasis on oil and gas title opinions. Smith has rendered title opinions covering Ohio and many areas of Texas, including the Barnett Shale, Permian Basin and Eagle Ford regions. Her most recent work has focused on original drilling title opinions, division order opinions and due diligence projects. She also has over 10 years of experience in workers’ compensation law, personal injury litigation and real estate transactions.
In addition to Smith’s law practice, she is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Louisiana State Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, North Dakota Bar Association, Women’s Energy Network, American Association of Professional Landman, Houston Area Women Land Professionals and the National Association of Professional Women.
Smith received her Juris Doctorate from the Law Center at Louisiana State University, and is licensed to practice law in Louisiana, Texas, Ohio and North Dakota.
