Our Land Use and Real Estate practice group is an interdisciplinary practice group well-versed in virtually all aspects of real estate transactions. Our attorneys represent owners and/or developers of shopping and retail centers, apartment projects, mixed-use developments, condominiums, hotels, industrial and manufacturing facilities, hospitals and other medical facilities, nursing homes, office buildings, residential developments, resort properties, restaurants, unimproved land, MUDs, lenders, and lending institutions.
We develop strategies for clients dealing with master planning, zoning, subdivisions, site plans, development permits, condemnation, environmental matters, water and wastewater regulations, annexation and traffic issues. We are registered lobbyists with the City of Austin (and other cities). We have represented owners and developers of real property in front of city, county, and state authorities. We create and revise city and county ordinances, creating and dissolving MUDs and road districts, and regulations affecting the development of real property.
We work with platting, master planning, zoning, variances, waivers, annexation, economic development incentives, development agreements, utility commitments, association formation and representation and legal tract determinations. Our attorneys frequently negotiate Chapter 245 “vested rights” determinations, condemnation, “due diligence” development and yield analyses, state and local lobbying, and drafting city and county ordinances, and the rules and regulations affecting the development of real property.
