Stimulus Resources Through the U.S. Department of Agriculture

In addition to stimulus resources available through the Federal Reserve, SBA and other federal agencies, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has been provided with additional resources that may be available to farmers and rural businesses, including:

  • $9.5 billion for USDA to respond to COVID-19, including for providing support to impacted agricultural producers
  • USDA’s Commodity Credit Corp.

CARES Act, $2.2 Trillion Stimulus Package Signed into Law

UPDATE: The $2.2 trillion stimulus package referred to as the CARES Act was signed into law on March 27, 2020. The Act provides economic assistance to businesses of all types (including nonprofits) and public entities. The Act also provides monetary assistance and other forms of relief for qualifying individuals.

Families First Coronavirus Response Act

This summary is limited to the expanded paid leave and payroll tax provisions of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act as those are the topics about which we anticipate receiving the most questions in the immediate future.  The bill provides job-protected leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), paid sick leave for certain  full- and part-time employees, and grants tax credits to employers to recoup the cost of the leave provided.

Coats Rose Represents Residential Developer in the Creation of a Public Improvement District in Angleton, Texas
